Here it is. A story I shot during 4 days in Istanbul, city of dreams and visions, colors and spices, east and west. When Charles Dickens penned A Tale of Two Cities, he could have been writing about London and Paris, or simply about one Istanbul.
Special thanks go to Rena Effendi, whose kindergartening (!) and exacting vision helped massage a story out of the hundreds of images I took, and to Zeynep, whose insightful and bittersweet relationship with her city gave the story its form and texture.
Note that this video is hosted by Vimeo, which I chose because YouTube is banned in Turkey and I wouldn’t want my friends there to miss this.
