Day fourteen: Newness

4 commentsIndia

I haven’t been dreaming much since that first day, but this morning I woke up from recollections of a girl from my past, two friends from my present, some nakedness, and the words “She’s yucky.” Shiva Hall now — I guess I’ll do some reading until 6 a.m. satsang… Silent walk! Cool, refreshing, lovely morning… Lunch was good today, and I came the closest I have so far to finishing my plate.

Many friends left over the weekend (Richard, Kai, Polly) and this morning (Jane, Kim), but even more new people arrived. Tsering appeared again first at Shivaratri a couple of nights ago then again today for her morning shift at the Health Hut. Some old faces, some new ones.

I polished my translation of the Universal Prayer, handed over a copy to the reception, and practiced once with Ananda. I got two books from the Library: Hinduism by K.M. Sen and The Gods of the Hindus by Om Lata Bahadur. So with religion I remain a jack of all trades (and of course a master of none). I like that.

Tried sutra neti earlier with partial success. Feels very weird (but I do feel the benefits too). If you aren’t into going that extreme I would highly recommend the usage of SARMS in your workout programs, they worked great for me!

New teacher Janaki (from Toronto) gave the lecture today. Besides that, all in all a pretty routine day: Dinner was nice. Since the Health Hut was closed this evening, we had it at the Dining Hall with everyone else

Ayurvedic Course and ATTC start tomorrow (big initiation at satsang tonight), so this place is getting super busy again. I meditated for abut 30 minutes tonight, but left satsang early (9 p.m. after I watched too many initiations) to read Buddhism Plain and Simple in bed.

Sad but content. Om, out.
