Day seven: Birthday

3 commentsIndia

My birthday (apparently — so Corinne says) starts with a morning walk to the lake, where we chant to the sunrise. I also run into Tsering by the water cooler and we make a wish on an eyelash I pick off her forehead. She gives me a nice warm hug as she leaves to spend the day in the village.

Fog blankets the lake during sunrise.

Corinne and I have our picture taken as we walk back to the ashram.

Unlike many children on our walk, this little girl paid no attention to us.

I aways peek through the layered spaces of the houses on our way.

Andrea (the Hungarian dancer from last night’s talent show) says Aquarius will have a very good year on all fronts — but we have to be patient. All that at the Health Hut, where I have a banana milkshake and a herbal cola (hey, it’s my birthday!).

Corinne thinks the challenge was the first week of being here, when everything was new. I think it’ll be the third week, when nothing is.

After satsang, I run into Tsering again on the steps of Shiva Hall and she wishes me a happy birthday again. This is a good day.

Om out.
