Take me back to Hamra Street. Not the strip of franchise restaurants, or the avenue of glass-and-steel boutiques, or the boulevard of frapuccino joints, or the thoroughfare of parceled rubble piles.
Hamra, where to?

Being part of the younger generation, I have no recollection of what Hamra street was like. For me, Hamra, being a culture hub, is what is like today, and on a larger perspective, Beirut's actual architecture is fine the way it is, I know no other/better alternative.

"I know no other/better alternative." That final sentence in your comment says it all. :) Thanks for stopping by.

I agree with Angelo.
I love Hamra because it's different from any other street in Lebanon. Every time I walk around I discover old buildings that are so beautiful, but what makes me sad is when I see them being destroyed so they could build a new commercial center or another Vero Moda (there are already 5 of them I guess)!
I don't care if I wait 1 hour everyday to find a parking lot because I love it and its people (especially meedo!!!).
I feel like I'm a part of it, which is why my senior project will be based on tourism in Hamra :)
I agree. In fact this story's original title was "Fuck You, Vero Moda" (no joke) but I decided it wasn't poetic enough. :)
Hahaha! True :)

If they start having a chain of FCUK shops in Hamra Street then your original title will be sarcastic!! :)
Hahaha! If an FCUK shows up on Hamra Street, then whatever I write it'll be too late anyway...
